The Nexus One speakers have gotten a lot of hype since the Google smartphone came out. While the sound quality may not be perfect according to our super high standards today, it is certainly a huge step forward for cell phones. If you are holding the phone to your ear in the standard way, you will be really impressed with the clear quality. The Nexus One speakers a quite a bit louder than the iPhone though the sound isn’t completely crisp when you have the volume up all the way on speakerphone.

This is probably because of the very thin design of the phone which compromises some of the quality. The Nexus One speakers are located on the back of the phone which surprisingly didn’t create any problems for our test users. Because the camera protrudes from the back of the phone a bit, it gives the speakers room to sound even when lying down. You can hook up your Nexus phone to just about any basic external speaker because it uses a standard 3.5 mm audio jack. I was impressed with some of the new USB Nexus One speakers which have come out.

They are tiny but offer a great sound quality and some even work on Bluetooth so don’t need to be connected to your actual phone. If you are interested in listening to music at home or the office, you should check out the Nexus One dock which uses internal Bluetooth to play tunes from your phone.

nexus one micro sd card

I know that the Nexus One is great for its synch abilities and quick internet browsing. However, I find that I mostly use my Google phone for listening to music and snapping photos to put on Facebook. That is why I was really excited about the Nexus One micro SD card. The phone comes with a 4GB card which is quite a lot to fill up before you transfer the information to your computer. Even with the great resolution photos that the Nexus can take, I still found 4 GB took a while to fill. The Nexus One micro SD card slot can go up to 32 GB.

It is still a bit difficult to find a card with this much memory but you can order them online at various places. With this much memory, I could store entire TV series and still have room for music. This really comes in handy on my long commute by train to and from work. Unfortunately, the Nexus One has just a 512 MB internal memory, which is pretty standard of all smartphones now. Because the micro SD card is just for contacts, photos, videos, and some applications, all your other apps will have to be stored on the internal memory which doesn’t provide much space at all.

Still, I am impressed with the amount of content I can put on my phone and it is all so easy. The Nexus phone automatically moves files to the memory card and I can easily connect it with my PC through the Bluetooth.

When the Nexus One was launched, we were excited to see how it would hold up against its competitors as far as memory goes. Right away, we were thrilled to see that the phone ships with a Nexus One memory card of 4GB. The internal memory of the Nexus One is only 512MB but this is the same as the other leading smartphones right now. You will have more than enough space for all your contacts, no matter how popular you are. One of the best features of the Google phone is that great quality camera. When you take a photo, it automatically gets stored on the Nexus One memory card.

However, if you download any applications to your phone, they will not get stored on the memory card. Since your phone’s wall papers and other basic functions take up internal memory space, that means you only have around 200MB to store applications. This is a ridiculously low amount but is unfortunately common with all smartphones right now. The Nexus One does have a slot for a micro SD card that can handle up to 32 GB. A few applications can be stored here but this is mostly for pictures, videos, and contacts.

As far as the Nexus One memory goes, it is good but does not leap beyond its competitors. It would be nice to see smartphones in the future with more room for applications. As of now though, you have enough space to put TV shows and loads of music on your phone for long trips.

I just got my Nexus One and am really impressed with the phone for all its capabilities. I’ve found that it really outdoes its competitors in almost every way. While I do use the contacts synch features and surf the net a lot on my N1, I mostly am using it to listen to music. That is why I was so excited about the great accessories for the Google phone. I can use the desktop dock to play music from my phone right through my stereo without even having to put the phone in the cradle. This is because the dock has Bluetooth right inside of it which automatically pairs with the Nexus phone from the first time you put it in the cradle.

I was also impressed with the Nexus One headphones which were included with my purchase. First of all, Google has done a great thing of giving the Nexus a 3.5mm audio jack with a 4 conductor plug. That means that just about any headphone set will work on the N1. The included Nexus One headphones are pretty good quality and have controls for play, track forward and pause right there on the cable. I sprung for a pair of Bluetooth headphones for the phone though, especially because I hate dealing with wires while listening to music on the go.

I also got a pair of Nexus One headphones for my car which also work on Bluetooth and have a microphone built into the tiny earpiece.

The Nexus One comes with a headset which is wired in a common way with a 3.5mm jack and 4 conductor plug. This means that a lot of basic headphones will work with the Google phone and you don’t have to buy special products designed exclusively for the phone. However, keep in mind that not all headphones will work with the Nexus phone or some of the functions on the headphones won’t work properly when hookup up. That is why it is better to use a headphone which specifically cites it is compatible with N1.

The included Nexus One headphones are actually quite good. It is nice that there are controls on the cord for pause, play and next track. There is a Bluetooth device for adjusting volume but this may run your battery down if left on. If you are serious about using your phone for listening to music or conversations even, it is worth investing in a better pair of Nexus One headphones which are comfortable and practical for you. There are basically limitless options because of the standard 3.5mm jack that the Google phone uses.

For those that wish to avoid wires, a Bluetooth headphone set comes in really handy especially while exercising or on the move. There is also a microphone function in the Nexus stereo earphones so you can record your own voice. The Bluetooth earpiece doesn’t have the quality for listening to music but it is a must for drivers who want to talk on the road.

One of the things which really shocked me about the new Nexus One phone was that it charges on a standard Micro USB cable. This is unlike some other smart phones which force you to buy special chargers and cables for connection to your computer. This is such an annoying factor when you want to connect to a colleagues PC and he has a different phone, thus different cable. The Nexus One USB cable shows that Google is working towards making smart phones available to on a non-exclusive basis.

Who knows, maybe we actually will see a universal system in the future for all cell phone cables and digital devices. You probably already have the USB to Micro USB cable required to connect a Nexus One to a PC. Even if you don’t, you can buy these online for very cheap. Since even these basic accessories for phones are also making huge improvements, it is worth it to spend a few extra dollars to buy a Nexus One cable which is fire retardant. Also, pay attention to the transfer rate of the cable because many older models go much slower than the newer ones.

Once your Nexus One is connected to a computer, you can easily share documents, synch your contacts and calendars, load pictures directly to internet sites and much more. The beauty of this all is that your phone charges it is connected to the computer.

Google has really revolutionized several things about how we buy and use our cell phones. First, by selling the Nexus One phone unlocked through the internet, consumers are no longer reliant upon their service providers to tell them which phone they can or can’t use. An often overlooked aspect of the Nexus phone is that it uses a simple Micro USB cable for charging. Unlike other smart phones which require specialized cables and chargers, the Google phone doesn’t force you to buy a separate accessory.

Since one of the benefits of the Nexus phone is that you can synch with your computer and easily share data, you will be happy to know that you just need a basic USB to Micro USB cable to make the connection. Using the Nexus One USB cable, you can synch the phone to your computer and get share files, messages, pictures and more. You can do all this while your phone charges from the PC. There are a lot of different products which market themselves as a Nexus One USB cable. However, most of these aren’t anything different from the USB cable which you already have lying around at home.

A couple features which you will want to take into consideration when buying a new USB to USB Micro cable for your Nexus One is the transfer rate. Also, finding one that is flame retardant adds an extra amount of safety, especially if you leave your Nexus phone connected to your PC over a longer period.

google nexus one case

While most people worry about damaging their phones by dropping it or other extreme accidents, it is really the day to day use which does the most damage. Our fingers have a lot of oil on them (and probably quite a bit of dirt too) which rubs off on the Nexus One screen from all the tapping that we do. Dust and dirt particles stick to the oil and, next thing you know, it is inside your sensitive electronic phone and jamming up the buttons. It seems negligent not to buy a Nexus One case for your phone in order to ensure its protection.

Plus, there are so many different options for cases specifically suited for the Google phone. The most popular cases are in plastic, silicon and metal though you can find exotic Nexus One case designs of alligator skin and so forth. Even the most basic cases have some degree of style to them. One really cool model has a screen shield which turns into a mirror when your phone is in off mode. Still, function comes before fashion with a Nexus One case. These are designed to protect from scratches and all that dirt buildup.

Some cases now have functions like a power saving mode. After making the investment in a Nexus One phone, it really is worth spending a few extra dollars to get a case which will protect your phone over the long run.

It is a smart idea to get a Nexus One case for your new smart phone. Even though Google advertises their phone as scratch proof and durable, it never hurts to go the extra mile for extra protection. After all, most of us use our phones almost nonstop on a daily basis. This is where our phones pick up the most wear and tear. While a phone can survive being dropped, our fingers will do a lot of damage over time. The oil on our fingers builds up around the edges of the Nexus One and those few sensitive buttons.

Dust adheres to the oil and can clog up the controls or get right into of the sensitive electronic insides. A Nexus One case is a really easy way to avoid problems and make your phone last longer. There are so many different types of cases available now that you shouldn’t have any problem finding one to suit your needs. In general, they are made from plastic, metal, or silicon or leather. There are also a lot of different shapes, sizes and designs. Some of the newest Nexus One case designs have their own functions such as a power saving mode to preserve your battery.

Function always takes precedent over fashion but you still get both with the vast amount of cases available for the Nexus One.
